As if he weren't around the Bob Brown Place enough just delivering babies Dr. Nusz was called to an emergency one day in about 1913. Josie ran from the house to the yard when she heard little Louie crying and shouting for her attention. When she got to the yard, she saw Bob's vest floating in the pond with Fonzy in it face down. Getting him from the water, she sent bob running about a mile to Dick Mattingly's house were he could use the phone to call Dr. Nusz who credited her with saving her first-born's life by her clever technique : to get the water out, she rolled little Fonzy stomach down over a barrel!

He was married to Florence Rose Bond (daughter of David William Bond and Mary Catherine Vetter) on 30 Nov 1933 in St. Columbus Church, Louisville, Ky. Florence Rose Bond ⁽⁴⁾ was born on 30 Aug 1913 in 2530 Slevin Street, Louisville, Ky.. She died on 20 Dec 1983 in Louisville Ky.. Florence Worked at the Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator. She was able to tell what part of the country you were from by your accent. She also had a photographic memory. She could tell you everyone's birthday in the family. No small feat. Joseph Alphonsus Brown and Florence Rose Bond had the following children:
