247. John Floyd Yates ⁽⁵⁾ was born on 11 Dec 1876 in Hardin Co. Ky. He died on 1 Feb 1946 in Hardin Co. Ky. Recollections of Louise Wallace:

Because his father died of an alcohol related illness John was a
teetotaller. Not so his siblings and sons.
When he bought the Home place [farm] neighbors said it was so poor that it
could not support the family, but when he died it was valued at the
highest price per acre in the county. He called himself a bible farmer,
farming as described in the bible, rotating crops letting fields lie
fallow one year in seven and using farm waste as fertilizer [manure, straw,
corn fodder etc.].

He was married to Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mae Patterson (daughter of Henry Franklin Patterson and Isabella Catherine Stader) on 17 Oct 1900 in Hardin Co. Ky. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mae Patterson⁽⁶⁾ was born on 11 Jun 1879 in Hardin Co. Ky. She died on 14 Oct 1957 in Hardin County KY. Recollections of Louise Wallace:

Lizzie May had a niece [Sarah Lizzie Vititoe] close to her own age, but I
have yet to determine which half sister married a Vititoe. My source is an
old tintype picture album inherited from Lizzie May (my g'ma) through my
mother. Mother and I identified as many of the pictures as her memory
would allow.
I remember looking at the album as a kid and asking G'ma who the people
were and she knew them all, but my memory did not carry second-hand facts
well, nor did mothers therefore much of the information was lost because
G'ma never saw fit to label those pictures, [why should she, she already
knew them all and it never occurred to her that the next owner would have
any difficulty remembering]. John Floyd Yates and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mae Patterson had the following children:
